Program Structure
The online program consists of 36 credits over 12 courses.
Term 1
- FIN 515 Financial Decision Making - 3 Credits
- Corporate financial management requires the ability to understand the past performance of the firm in accounting terms; while also being able to project the future economic consequences of the firm in financial terms.
- MIS 631 Data Management - 2 Credits
- This 2-credit course focuses on data and database management, with an emphasis on modeling and design, and their application to business decision making.
- MIS 632 Data Management Lab - 1 Credit
- This 1-credit lab course provides an experiential learning component for MIS 631 Data Management for which it is a co-requisite.
Term 2
- BIA 500 Business Analytics: Data, Models & Decisions - 3 Credits
- Many managerial decisions - regardless of their functional orientation - are increasingly based on analysis using quantitative models from the discipline of management science.
- MGT 609 Project Management Fundamentals - 3 Credits
- This course deals with the basic problems of managing a project, defined as a temporary organization built for the purpose of achieving a specific objective.
Term 3
- MIS 710 Process Innovation and Management - 3 Credits
- This course focuses on the role of information technology (IT) in reengineering and enhancing key business processes.
- MIS 699 Digital Innovation - 3 Credits
- IT organizations must be able to leverage new technologies.
Term 4
- MIS 730 Integrating Information System Technologies - 3 Credits
- This course focuses on the issues surrounding the design of an overall information technology architecture.
- MIS 760 Information Technology Strategy - 3 Credits
- The objective of this course is to address the important question, "How to improve the alignment of business and information technology strategies?"
Term 5
- MIS 636 Data Integration for Business Intelligence & Analytics - 3 Credits
- This course focuses on the design and management of data warehouse (DW) and business intelligence (BI) systems.
- MIS 637 Data Analytics and Machine Learning - 3 Credits
- This course will focus on Data Mining & Knowledge Discovery Algorithms and their applications in solving real world business and operation problems.
