Course Details

Course Structure

The program consists of two years of full-time study, with a total of 24 months. The course is divided into two years, with the first year focusing on core universal midwifery care and the second year building on this knowledge to develop autonomy and leadership skills.

Learning and Teaching

The program uses a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, seminars, workshops, skills suite work, discussion, debate, and exploration of case studies. Students will also have the opportunity to learn from other healthcare students, developing teamwork skills and understanding of the roles of other healthcare professionals.

Assessment

Assessments include case studies, reflection in and on practice, observed structured clinical examinations (OSCEs), written assessments, and poster presentations. Grading of practice is a central feature of practice assessment, accounting for approximately 25% of the overall degree classification.
