Overview

Thinking Ahead is an online engineering taster programme that invites participants to learn more about the world of engineering and take part in a sustainability-themed design challenge.

Programme Details

• Duration: 3 weeks
• Dates: Summer Thinking Ahead: 30 June – 20 July 2025
• Application Deadline: 22 June 2025
• Application Status: Applications are now open

Programme Structure

• Learning Platform: Canvas
• Live Events: Microsoft Teams
• Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours across the three weeks

Programme Content

• Engineering Theory: Interactive and engaging engineering theory content via Canvas
• Design Challenge: Participants will design and present a prototype based on a brief
• Workshop Sessions: Sessions with the TEDI-London team and professional masterclasses to teach participants more about the world of engineering and to help with the challenge

Eligibility

• Age: 16 or over
• Internet Access: Required for participation

Benefits

• Participation Certificate: All participants who submit their projects will receive a participation certificate
• Winners' Certificate and Reference: Winners will receive a winners' certificate and an exclusive reference from TEDI-London
• Award: Thinking Ahead participants who go on to study at TEDI-London could be eligible for an award of up to £500
