3D/SCULPTURE: STUDIO ART, B.F.A.

McCausland College of Arts and Sciences

Enter a new dimension of education in our 3D studio art track, where you bring your imagination to life through sculpture, jewelry, metalsmithing, and fibers.

Our studio art program allows you to develop your creative voice and gain hands-on technical skills in a supportive learning environment through intensive 3D studio practices. This program is perfect for students who wish to explore building and making things through traditional or collaborative methods.

• Accomplished Faculty: Receive a comprehensive education in the expanded field of sculpture and metalsmithing from award-winning artists.
• Pre-professional Training: Exhibit your work on campus and in the community, or apply for competitive residencies at Columbia's Stormwater Studios.
• Emphasis on Creativity: Explore your own artistic vision and develop your own style through a program that emphasizes creativity and invention.
• Collaborative Opportunities: Create projects alongside many programs across the university, such as music, theatre, dance, and women’s and gender studies.

What You’ll Study

You will get in-depth experience in many aspects of designing and creating 3D art in our studios that include a woodshop, welding center, outdoor forging area, and a jewelry and metalsmithing studio.
