Assessment Methods
Assessment methods are tailored to support the development of knowledge, application, and skills. At levels 4 and 5, the majority of module assessments contain two parts:
- A multiple-choice question (MCQ) examination to assess comprehension of key module content.
- The second part includes a number of different assessment methods, such as the use of advocacy, portfolios, drafting exercises, and coursework.
At level 6, the selected pathway will inform the assessments, which will consist of a combination of different assessment types.
Study and Career Support
- Arden Consumer Advice Clinic: A virtual Law Clinic where students can gain experience interviewing clients and providing initial advice with the support of qualified staff.
- Virtual Law Firm: A unique aspect of the course, replicating many elements of professional law practice, allowing students to apply their learning to real-world scenarios in a safe environment.
- Legal specialist career consultant: Students have access to a legal career consultant specializing in helping them make the most of their LLB degree.
Study Options
The course is available to study through Arden's blended learning study mode at study centers in London Stratford, London Holborn, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Entry Requirements
- Standard entry requirements:
- At least 3 x GCSEs or equivalent that are less than 3 years old, or
- At least 3 x GCSEs or equivalent, over 3 years old, with an accompanying CV.
- Non-standard entry requirements: Arden University is happy to consider an application from individuals who can show motivation to study the LLB degree, even if they do not currently meet the standard entry requirements.
English Proficiency
- IELTS 5.5 (no less than 5.0 in any element); or TOEFL iBT 80; or equivalent
- Alternatively, evidence of previously studying in English, such as a letter to show that the Medium of Instruction was in English, can be accepted.
