Overview

The BSc Resource and Exploration Geology programme is designed to prepare students to tackle important global challenges, including climate change, natural hazards, and the supply of critical raw materials and resources. The programme focuses on understanding the Earth, its processes, systems, and natural resources.

Entry Requirements

• Typical offer: A-Level: ABB, IB: 32/655, BTEC: DDM
• Contextual offers: A-Level: BBC, IB: 28/554, BTEC: DMM
• Required subjects: GCE A-Level in two science subjects at grade B, or A-Level Geology at grade B
• GCSE: C or 4 in English Language and Mathematics
• Access to HE: 24 L3 Credits at Distinction Grade and 21 L3 credits at Merit Grade
• T-Level: Distinction in T-level Design, surveying and planning for construction only

Fees

• Tuition fees for 2025 entry: UK students: £9,535 per year, International students: £30,900 per year
• Scholarships: The University of Exeter has many different scholarships available to support your education, including £5 million in scholarships for international students applying to study with us in the 2025/26 academic year.

Fieldwork

• Fieldwork locations: Pembrokeshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Isle of Skye, Cyprus, Italy, or southern Spain
• Fieldwork duration: 60 days in the first year, 34 days in the second year, and a 10-day residential trip in the third year
