Overview

The BEng Renewable Energy Engineering with Foundation Year is a 4-year integrated degree program that covers the core mathematics required to successfully complete an Engineering degree at the University of Exeter. The program is designed for students who may not have met the standard entry criteria for various reasons and aims to widen participation and increase access to higher education.


Eligibility Criteria

  • A-Level: BCC, with C in Maths and B in a Science subject
  • IB: 26/544, with Maths HL4 or SL6 and Science HL5
  • BTEC: DMM, with specific requirements for different BTEC Extended Diplomas
  • GCSE: 4/C, with Grade C or 4 in GCSE English language
  • Access to HE: 18 L3 credits at Distinction grade and 27 L3 credits at Merit grade, with specific requirements for Maths and Science subjects
  • T-Levels: Not accepted

Course Content

The Foundation Year comprises 90 credits of core maths, plus some aspects of the further maths curriculum, and 30 credits of a project that includes key skills for university study.

Assessment

Modules are assessed by a combination of summative assessments. You must pass your foundation year and meet the progression criteria to progress to Year 1 of the BEng in Engineering with a foundation year, but the results do not count towards your degree classification.
