Overview
The History (with Foundation Year) BA program is designed for students who want to pursue a degree in History but do not meet the standard entry requirements. The program includes a foundation year that provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their undergraduate studies.
Qualification and Entry Requirements
- Qualification: Bachelor of Arts with Honours
- Entry Requirements:
- BCC at A level
- 24 points overall or 544 in 3 Higher Level Certificates (IB score)
- GCSE English grade 4 (C)
- Additional entry requirements may apply
Start Date and Duration
- Start Date: September 2026
- Duration: 4 years full-time
Fees
- Tuition fees for 2026/27: £5,760*
Course Information
The program includes a foundation year that covers a range of subjects, including:
- Important Thinkers Through History
- Critical Thinking and Reflective Learning
- Language and Culture
- Media, Communication and Society
- Narrative and Creativity
- The Project / Language Centre modules
Progression to Direct Entry Degree
Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students will progress directly to their chosen undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Arts.
Study Abroad and Placements
Students have the opportunity to study abroad at one of the university's partner institutions or at the University of Nottingham China or University of Nottingham Malaysia. Additionally, students can participate in placements and internships to gain professional experience.
