Hispanic Studies BA Hons
Overview
The BA in Hispanic Studies is a four-year undergraduate degree that allows students to immerse themselves in Spanish and Latin American history and culture through music, literature, film, and theatre. The course is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the Spanish-speaking world and its cultures, as well as the skills to communicate effectively in Spanish.
Course Structure
The course is divided into four years, with the third year spent abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. The first two years focus on developing language skills, with modules on Spanish language, literature, and culture. The third year is spent abroad, where students can study at a university, work as a language teaching assistant, or undertake a work placement. The final year focuses on advanced language skills and specialized modules on topics such as Spanish American literature, politics, and culture.

Assessment

Fees
The tuition fee for the 2025/26 academic year is £9,535 for UK undergraduate students. International students can expect to pay £23,000 per year.
Entry Requirements
- ABB at A level, including B in Spanish
- 30 Points overall or 655 in 3 Higher Level Certificates
- IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any element
