Overview

The Ancient History BA program at the University of Nottingham offers students a comprehensive understanding of the ancient world, covering the history, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome. The program is designed to provide students with a broad range of skills, including critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret and present different kinds of evidence.

Entry Requirements

• ABB at A level
• 30 Points overall or 655 in 3 Higher Level Certificates (IB score)
• IELTS: 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element)
• GCSE: English grade 4 (C)

Tuition Fees

• £9,535 per year (UK undergraduate students)
• £23,000 per year (International students)

Duration

• 3 years full-time or part-time

Study Abroad

• Opportunities to study abroad at partner institutions or at University of Nottingham China or University of Nottingham Malaysia

Optional Placement Year

• Opportunities to undertake an optional placement year, with support from the Careers and Employability Service

• Year one: Interpreting Ancient Art and Archaeology, Interpreting Ancient History, Interpreting Ancient Literature, Studying the Greek World, Studying the Roman World
• Year two: Extended Source Study, Studying Classical Scholarship, Intermediate Latin or Greek, Latin or Greek Texts
• Year three: Dissertation in Ancient History, Sparta, Advanced Latin or Greek, Latin or Greek Texts
