Classical Civilisation BA

Overview

The Classical Civilisation BA program at the University of Nottingham is a three-year undergraduate degree that explores the history, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome. Entry Requirements

  • ABB at A level
  • 30 Points overall or 655 in 3 Higher Level Certifcates (IB score)
  • IELTS: 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any element)
  • GCSE: English grade 4 (C)
  • Alternative qualifications: Access to HE Diploma, Advanced Diploma, BTEC HND/HNC, BTEC Extended Diploma

Program Structure

The program consists of three years of study, with a range of core and optional modules.   • A degree in classical civilisation gives you a wide range of transferable skills, including effective communication, planning a research project, constructing a logical argument, thinking and study independently, and the ability to synthesise and evaluate information and opinions.
  • If you chose to study Greek and Latin, you will also have the analytical skills to understand the grammar of foreign languages, and experience of translating between cultures.
