Overview

Civil engineering combines creativity with technological and scientific knowledge to change the world. This degree teaches students how to design and manage high-profile projects, studying the key components of civil engineering theory and developing the skills necessary to become a civil engineer.

Entry Requirements

• A Levels: AAA
• IB Score: 34 points overall or 666 in 3 HL certificates
• GCSE English: Grade 4 (C)
• GCSE Mathematics: Grade A
• Required Subjects: Mathematics and one from physics (preferred), economics, psychology, 3D design, chemistry, biology, design and technology, geography, geology, computing, computer science, or further maths
• Excluded Subjects: General studies, critical thinking, citizenship studies, global perspectives, research, thinking skills

Alternative Qualifications

• Access to HE Diploma: 36 Level 3 credits at Distinction (including 15 Level 3 credits at Distinction in Mathematics and 15 Level 3 credits at Distinctions in Engineering/Science units) and 9 Level 3 credits at Merit
• RQF BTEC Nationals: D*DD + A in A Level Maths (for those considered for year one entry)
