Course summary
The PgDip Advancing Practice in Sensory Integration is a postgraduate diploma course designed for occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists who have completed a postgraduate certificate in sensory integration. The course aims to develop advanced knowledge and skills in sensory integration, enabling students to become agents of change within their own workplaces.
How you learn
The course is delivered online, with each module ensuring that the perspective of the person and their family (the service user) is at the heart of the learning. Students will have their own module e-mentor who supports their individual learning needs, as well as an online study group offering peer learning support. The course includes online presentations and lectures, module mentor facilitated forum discussions, quizzes and practical activities, independent study tasks, online activities, clinical hours, and reflection.

The course consists of the following modules:
Year 1
- Sensory Integration 1: Foundations And Neuroscience (30 credits)
- Sensory Integration 2: Clinical Reasoning In Sensory Integration: Assessment (20 credits)
Year 2
- Sensory Integration 3: Clinical Reasoning And Practice In Sensory Integration: Intervention (40 credits)
- Sensory Integration 4: Advanced Practice (30 credits)
Final year
- Sensory Integration 4: Advanced Practice (30 credits)

Entry requirements
- Normally, applicants will hold a first degree or professional qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Speech and Language Therapy which is recognised in the UK.
- Equivalent, international academic and/or professional qualifications will be accepted.
- If English is not the first language, students will need an IELTS score of 7.0 overall and a minimum of 6.5 in all skills, or a recognised equivalent.
