This course is designed to produce highly skilled mechanical engineers who, through the application of new knowledge, are ready for employment or further study.

Course Structure

The course adopts an applied problem-based and research-informed approach, and is based on core subject areas. These include mechanical engineering design, solid mechanics, dynamics, thermofluids, engineering practice, materials, manufacturing and engineering mathematics.

Year 1

  • Further Mechanical Engineering Science And Numerical Analysis (40 credits)
  • Sustainable Engineering Design (40 credits)

Final Year

  • Project: Implementation (20 credits)

Entry Requirements

  • FdEng Integrated Engineering (Mechanical pathway)
  • A qualification which is deemed to be equivalent to the above
  • GCSE grade C in English or its equivalent
  • GCSE grade C Maths or its equivalent
  • International Applicants must be competent to the level of TOEFL 550 (paper based tests) or 213+ (computer based tests) or IELTS at least 6.0
