Overview

Vehicle Lube & Maintenance Techniques – TTK4T (College Course: MPM003)

In the automotive industry all Technicians start out doing oil and tire changes and detailing cars. This course will center on the skills to do these tasks to the best possible level. All aspects of maintenance inspection will be covered.

Engine Systems Part I – TTG4T (College Course: MPM015)

In this course, students will learn about the mechanical aspects of the internal combustion engine and its subsystems. Students are given an opportunity to examine the basic operating principles of the engine and to identify the component parts. A significant portion of time is devoted to engine component assessment, with hands-on activities on sample engines. To enhance the students’ understanding of engine diagnoses, live engines are used to challenge students’ investigative skills.

• Location: Commerce Court Campus.
• Note:
  • Tuition, materials, equipment and transportation fees will be covered through the Dual Credit program.
  • All students are expected to attend an orientation session prior to taking part in any Dual Credit program.
  • Students will be contacted by the SCWI Program Assistant, at least one week prior to the start of the program, to be provided with a date, time and location for each orientation session.

Admissions Requirements

Students who may need learning opportunities outside of high school and who would benefit from a college or apprenticeship experience to complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Certification/Accreditation

Dual credit programs can help students transition from high school to college and apprenticeship programs. They can help students complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma while customizing their learning with exposure to the college environment.
