Carpentry Essentials - Woodworking Basics

Overview

Are you interested in learning basic carpentry skills for small projects around the house? Do you want to learn how to use hand and basic power tools? Would you like to complete a woodworking project from start to finish under the guidance of a trained professional? If so, then this might just be the course for you. The Carpentry Essentials – Basic Woodworking course will explore the fundamentals of basic woodworking and cabinet making processes. Specifically, you will learn how to safely operate a wide array of hand tools and power tools, how to process rough lumber into finished products as well as laminating and wood joinery techniques. This course will guide you through the basics of what you need to know to complete your next woodworking project safely and independently.


Admission Requirements

You may enroll in a Continuing Education course at Canadore College if you are 19 years of age or older or if you have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma/Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
