Dementia Care (Badge)
Overview
Dementia care is a very important, challenging, but rewarding area of work. You are helping those with a progressive disease live out their final years and days with dignity and respect.
This 10 hour badge contains six modules that will help arm you with the information, tools and tips needed to provide compassionate care in a safe and respectful environment. You will gain more in-depth knowledge about dementia and you will learn about common comorbidities, challenging behaviours, and tips to help prevent caregiver burnout.
Admission Requirements
You may enroll in a Continuing Education course at Canadore College if you are 19 years of age or older or if you have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma/Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.

This course is designed as a self-paced delivery offering.

Experiential Learning
This program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in dementia care. The program includes six modules that cover various aspects of dementia care, including diagnosis, comorbidities, behaviours, risk management, end-of-life care, and self-care for caregivers.
