Program Overview
Overview
The Fundraising Management Certificate Program is designed to equip students with the practical skills necessary to pursue a career in fundraising in the non-profit sector. This program provides knowledge in areas such as special events planning, annual and capital campaigns, grant writing, major giving, and donor-centered planned giving.
Admission Requirements
To enroll in a Continuing Education course at Canadore College, you must be 19 years of age or older or have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma/Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
Part-Time Requirements
The following courses are required for the Fundraising Management Certificate Program:
- FUN001 Introduction to Fundraising
- FUN005 Fundraising as a Management Process
- FUN010 Methods of Fundraising
- FUN015 Donor Relationships in Fundraising
- FUN020 Strategic Management of Campaigns
- FUN025 Applied Fundraising Practices
Registration
Registration for the program is available online. It is recommended to use a computer to complete the registration process.
What You Need
Most college-level courses require textbooks, which are not included in the course fees. It is the student's responsibility to purchase any required textbooks.
Certification
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a College Certificate.

The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- Explain how philanthropy and volunteerism influence today's economy and the social impacts involved.
- Use management and leadership skills required of a fundraising manager.
- Develop an organizational fundraising plan including key marketing and communications strategies.
- Incorporate fiscal and ethical responsibilities in the planning and implementation of a fundraising campaign.
- Design a fundraising strategy utilizing classic fundraising methods.
- Identify funding opportunities for an organization while considering the availability of resources to implement the plan.
- Explain the fundamentals of cause-related marketing.
- Identify the key elements that motivate donors and develop a prospect list that will help maintain long-term relationships.
- Manage a specific fundraising campaign in a non-profit organization with the community.
