Overview
Earning a Ph.D. in Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences provides you with extensive formal classroom and research training within your field of choice. You will perform research that spans from molecular biology to meat and dairy production to the business of horse racing and have the opportunity to present your research at national and international meetings. Your individual plan of study is developed in accordance with your research interests and career goals. An M.S. is not required to apply for the Ph.D. program. Graduates are well prepared for careers in academia, the pharmaceutical industry, animal production or the racetrack industry.

Graduate College Admissions Requirements
Minimum graduate admissions requirements for Master’s and Doctoral degree seeking:
- An awarded four-year undergraduate bachelor degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or a comparable international degree recognized by the home country Ministry of Education. (For international students see Minimum International Degree Requirements.)

- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher based on a 4.0 scale for Degree seeking applicants.
