Overview

Distinguishing itself from a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Biostatistics, the M.S. in Biostatistics offers training in probability and statistical theory while the MPH provides a broader education in public health. The objective: to prepare you for a career as an applied biostatistician in spheres like public health and epidemiology, as well as clinical research settings. As for the curriculum, you will collaborate with an advisor on a course of study tailored to your interests and goals, culminating in a master's thesis project. Courses include Theory of Linear Models, Healthcare Data Science, Genetic Association Studies, and Statistical Consulting.


Graduate College Admissions Requirements

Minimum graduate admissions requirements for Master’s and Doctoral degree seeking:


  1. An awarded four-year undergraduate bachelor degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or a comparable international degree recognized by the home country Ministry of Education. (For international students see Minimum International Degree Requirements.)
