Course Summary
In this three-year course, students will learn to understand and apply Artificial Intelligence (AI). They will study from world-class researchers who develop new algorithms and apply AI to innovations in healthcare, finance, environmental modelling, robotics, and future technologies.

Course Structure
The course consists of several units:
- Principles of AI (years one and two): Students will study core concepts and ideas underpinning AI, including ethics and morality.
- Programming & Data Engineering (years one and two): Students will learn about algorithms, programming, and data management using specialist machine-learning tools and packages.
- The Mathematics of AI (year one): Students will gain a good grounding in relevant mathematical ideas, including applied linear algebra, information theory, probability, and statistics.
- Machine Learning: Algorithms and Architectures (years two and three): Students will learn about modern machine learning approaches, such as deep learning and reinforcement learning.
- Problem Solving and Applications (years two and three): Students will train to be AI problem solvers with experience in diverse application domains, including robotics, health, finance, manufacturing, and design.
Entry Requirements
- A-level standard offer: A*AA, including Mathematics
- A-level contextual offer: AAB, including A in Mathematics
- BTEC: D*DD in Engineering BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma, plus A in Mathematics at A-level (or equivalent)
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: 38 points overall, with 18 at Higher Level, including 6 in Higher Level Mathematics
- GCSE profile requirements: Further information about GCSE requirements and profile levels
- English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in all skills, or GCSE English Language grade C or 4
