Program Overview
Overview
This course provides a broad overview of children with exceptionalities and their educational needs. Students will be introduced to the characteristics, needs, and strengths of children with exceptionalities, with attention given to best practices for supporting the child’s growth and development within an inclusive school environment.
Prerequisites and Restrictions
- Prerequisites: EDAS 141A, EDAS 145, HDEC 100, and HDEC 101
- Restrictions: Must be in the Education Assistant Program (EDAS1, EDAS2, or EDAS...X60)
Other Prerequisites
- Criminal Record Check Schedule B works with "children" or works with "children and vulnerable adults."
- Admission to the Education Assistant Certificate or Diploma Program.
