HMTF150 Foundation Work Practicum
Program Description
The HMTF150 Foundation Work Practicum is a 60-contact-hour program that provides students with hands-on experience in the field of Heavy Mechanical Trades. Students will be placed in an unpaid practicum, where they will be exposed to operating terminology and become involved in the daily routine and duties performed by Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians, Truck and Transport Mechanics, Diesel Engine Mechanics, or Transport Trailer Technicians.
Program Requirements
- Corequisites: HMTF 101
- Restrictions: Must be in the Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation Program (HMTF1)
- Practicum Hours: 60
Program Details
- Practicum placements will be arranged upon recommendation of the instructor, with efforts made to provide placements based on a student's area of preference.
- Employers will be requested to provide a variety of tasks in line with the student's learning objectives.
