Overview

The graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership provides students with a graduate-level experience in the topic of organizational leadership and addresses critical elements of the leadership function in contemporary organizations.

Program Requirements

• The certificate requires 12 credit hours for completion.
• Required Courses:
  • Analysis of Organizational Behavior (MBA 421)
  • Organization Leadership (MGT 482)
• Elective Courses (pick two):
  • Dynamics of Negotiation (MGT 440)
  • Applied Organizational Leadership (MGT 483)
  • Building High Performance Organizations (MGT 484)

Admission Requirements

University Admission Requirements

• A student applying to this program must have earned a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association, or do so by the time of program matriculation.
• Submit unofficial transcripts from each college or university other than Illinois State at which graduate, undergraduate, or non-degree credit was earned.
• If admitted, official domestic transcripts can be emailed from the university to Admissions or mailed in a sealed envelope to: Illinois State University, Graduate School, 208 Hovey Hall, Campus Box 4040, Normal, IL.
• If admitted, official international transcripts can be emailed directly from the international institution to Admissions or mailed in a sealed envelope to: Illinois State University, International Admissions, Campus Box 6180, Normal, IL.

Additional Program Admission Requirements

GPA

• You must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 hours of your undergraduate coursework or any previous work in a graduate program.

Application Materials

• Current resume highlighting accomplishments and at least one year of relevant professional experience.
• Statement of purpose addressing your interests and what you hope to gain professionally after completing this certificate.
