Fashion Arts (FAA)
Program Overview
This three-year advanced diploma program allows you to explore your creativity while acquiring essential skills for a career in the fashion industry. These skills include illustration, 3D computer-aided design, sewing, pattern making, textiles, and clothing construction. The curriculum also emphasizes sustainability, diversity, and technology.

About the Program
The program culminates with a presentation of your graduating collection, where you can showcase your avant-garde designs in your area of interest — whether it’s streetwear, outerwear, evening wear, or couture. Adding to the Fashion Arts program experience is access to our Fashion Resource Centre, which houses over 12,000 Canadian-worn garments and accessories dating back to 1840.

This program is offered in Seneca's hybrid delivery format with some courses available in Seneca's flexible delivery format. Some coursework is online, and some must be completed in person. Students will need to come on campus to complete in-person learning requirements.

The Seneca Fashion Resource Centre is a unique academic research collection and experiential learning tool that showcases how fashion has been designed, made, purchased, and worn by people living in Canada. With over 15,000 items, it showcases fashion history by highlighting historical artifacts, Canadian designers, Indigenous craft, international luxury brands, and examples of fashion design traditions from around the world.

What Our Graduates Say
Eunice Chow
Graduate, Fashion Arts and Fashion Studies
Eunice Chow, a graduate of Seneca’s Fashion Arts advanced diploma program and Fashion Studies certificate program, was nominated for the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards’ (CAFA) Fashion Design Student Award. She was also one of four graduate designers selected to represent Toronto at the Fashion Graduate Italia, an international show in Milan.
Marysol Kim
Graduate, Fashion Arts and Fashion Studies
Marysol Kim is a Toronto-based fashion industry professional and designer who graduated from Seneca's Fashion Studies certificate and Fashion Arts advanced diploma programs. She currently works at Canada Goose as an Assistant Designer and as an instructor at George Brown College's Fashion Exchange.
