About the Bachelor of Education
Our four-semester program integrates teaching, research, and service within an innovative learning environment. You’ll learn from professors who are themselves accomplished educators. During the program students have four practice teaching assignments totaling 22 weeks. This is four more weeks than the licensure requirement and allows students to apply for alternative placements in their final practicum. This alternative placement can include the opportunity for students to get hands-on experience teaching abroad in their second year. Our students have done their final practicum in destinations including Norway, Australia, Kenya, Iceland, and Scotland.

Check Out our Residences
Bishops Hall
Bishops Hall was opened as a student residence in 1963. It is so named because of the individual residences it encompasses: Burke, Fraser, and Plessis, named in honour of three bishops who had early connections with the Diocese of Antigonish. Students in residence at Bishops Hall will feel right at home and live in comfort. Various amenities include shared kitchen facilities on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor, laundry facilities, room storage, common areas and a tv lounge.
Somers Hall
If you're interested in living on campus but don't want to stay in a traditional residence, Somers Hall is an excellent choice. Along with its twin building Power Hall, Somers Hall offers returning and transfer students at StFX on-campus apartments.
