Outline

The course covers staff outcomes, patient outcomes, theories of organizational readiness, and application in healthcare environments. It also explores organizational readiness to adapt to change, conditions that promote organizational readiness for change, allocating resources, and managing priorities.

Practicalities

The course aims to develop a critical understanding of contemporary issues in healthcare and explore organizational readiness for change in the implementation of evidence-based healthcare quality improvement.

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be qualified healthcare professionals registered with the regulatory body in their country of residence
• Have a primary honors degree (NFQ, Level 8) or equivalent

Technical Entry Requirements

To access and interact with the program content, assignments, and assessments, students will require reliable broadband and access to at least a PC/Laptop running Windows 7 or later and Mac OSX 10.7.4. Common plug-ins such as Microsoft Silverlight, Java, and Flash will also be required. Students must have access to MS Office or an equivalent suite of applications such as Libre Office. They must also have access to a modern standards-compliant web browser. UCC recommends either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. To engage productively and successfully with the content, basic technical computer skills such as familiarity with word processing, web browsing, and email are recommended.

Fees and Costs

The course fee is 900.

How to Apply

To apply for this module, students must gather any additional documents required, including a passport-style photo and a copy of their degree parchment if not a previous UCC graduate. The full module fee of 900 will be payable on submission of the application.
