Program Overview


EWRB Safety Training

Overview

Designed to meet the requirements of the Electrical Workers Registration Board, this 8-hour (1-day) short course must be completed within three months of being issued a Limited Certificate or Trainee Limited Certificate and holding a current first aid certificate for US6401 & US6402.


Course Content

  • The hazardous nature of electricity
  • The Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Known hazards and special hazards
  • Safety management of electrical hazards
  • General safety practices in the workplace
  • Safe use of tools and test equipment
  • Analysing electrical incidents
  • Safety and emergency procedures
  • Fire safety
  • Isolating electrical circuits from the supply of electricity
  • Testing electrical circuits to ensure safety prior to reconnection
