Requirements

This Certificate in French Language focuses on learning French language skills and developing a strong foundation for the effective use of the language socially, academically, and professionally. Non-Heritage Speakers
Take the following classes in sequential order, according to prerequisites:
- FREN 113 - Elementary French I
- FREN 114 - Elementary French II
- FREN 213 - Intermediate French I
- FREN 214 - Intermediate French II
- FREN 300 - French Grammar Review
- FREN 301 - Third-Year French: Composition and Conversation I
- or
- FREN 302 - Third-Year French: Composition and Conversation II
Note
Any student placed at or above FREN 213 will take FREN 213, FREN 214, FREN 300, FREN 301, FREN 302, and any one of the following: FREN 312, FREN 315, FREN 401, or FREN 402.
