Program Overview
Oregon MBA
The Oregon MBA is a graduate program offered by the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon. The program combines academic and experiential learning components to prepare students for leadership roles in sustainable enterprises.
Specializations
The Oregon MBA offers several specializations, including:
- Finance and Securities Analysis
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Sports Business
- Sustainable Business Practices
Sustainable Business Practices Specialization
The Sustainable Business Practices specialization prepares students for a leadership role in sustainable enterprises. The program combines academic and experiential learning components to give students a competitive advantage in the twenty-first-century business world.
Specialization Requirements
To have the sustainable business specialization noted on their transcripts, MBA students must take the following courses:
- The required Oregon MBA core courses:
- 15 required core courses for full-time MBA students
- 7 required core courses for accelerated MBA students
- The specific courses required for the specialization (listed below)
- Electives of their own choosing from a wide range available in the Lundquist College of Business, as well as from other colleges and departments across the University of Oregon
JD/MBA in Sustainability
MBA students can also pursue a cross-disciplinary focus in the field of sustainability by undertaking a concurrent JD/MBA—one of the few of its kind in the United States. Students must apply separately to, and be admitted by, both the UO School of Law and the Oregon MBA program.

To earn the sustainable business specialization on their transcripts, MBA students must take the following courses:

- MGMT 641: Industrial Ecology (3 credits)
- MGMT 543: Life Cycle Assessment (4 credits)
- MGMT 606: Strategic Planning Project (6 credits)
Specialization Electives
Students must take a minimum of 6 credits worth of specialization electives:
- MGMT 510: Business of Food (4 credits)
- MGMT 608: Clean Energy Finance (3 credits)
- MGMT 610: Greening Sports and Events (3 credits)
- MKTG 510: Marketing and Sustainability (4 credits)
- OBA 544: Business Database Management Systems (4 credits)
- OBA 566: Project Operations and Management (4 credits)
- OBA 577: Supply Chain Operations and Information (4 credits)
