Digital Media and Design Major
In the Digital Media & Design major, you'll begin by exploring four core areas – Animation, Game, Graphic and Screen Design – before specializing in your final year. You'll learn how to bring stories to life through animation, create engaging and interactive games through storytelling and world-building, communicate visually using illustration and typography in graphic design, and blend text, image and sound for dynamic screen applications.
- Animation Design teaches you how to bring static images to life. Learn the fundamentals of animation to create both 2D and 3D animations.
- Game Design explores how storytelling, conceptual art and worldbuilding combine to create engaging interactive experiences. Learn how to create a fully functioning prototype game.
- Graphic Design teaches you how to communicate through a visual language. Learn about the elements and principles of design and the ways conceptual thinking and problem solving can be used.
- Screen Design introduces you to filmmaking techniques combined with motion graphics to create video installation art and title sequences for film. Learn how text, images and sound produce dynamic moving visuals that tell compelling stories.
Animation Major
In the Animation major, you'll focus on the craft of animated storytelling. You'll experiment with motion graphics, learn the techniques behind stop motion, and produce 2D and 3D animations for film, television, games, and online platforms.
