CPD Occupational Hygiene
Overview
Contemporary occupational health and safety practice requires practitioners to be adaptable, with broad experience of a wide range of workplace environments. Increasingly, practitioners are expected to apply a breadth of knowledge to workplace situations across the occupational hygiene, health, safety, and environment spectrum.
Entry Requirements
We require an undergraduate degree preferably in a health or science related discipline. In lieu of a degree qualification we will accept other qualifications along with relevant industry experience.

Course Overview
Our CPD course units are aimed at occupational health, safety and allied health professionals working in occupational health-related areas and address the main issues of occupational exposure assessment and control.
- Develop the knowledge, critical understanding and skills to apply occupational exposure assessment and controls to a range of situations in industry.
- Study in a research-rich university environment. Established in 1945, the Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) is the oldest and probably largest academic centre in the UK.
- Demonstrate capability of meeting core competencies in occupational hygiene and health.
- Gain a CPD certificate and 30 MSc credits which can be transferred onto our MSc or MPH courses.
- This is a fully online course, with optional on campus four day workshop in Manchester.
Fees
- Modular (part-time distance learning):
- UK students (per annum): £2,900 per 30 credits
- International, including EU, students (per annum): £7,000 per 30 credits
Additional Expenses
Our on campus Practical Course in Occupational Hygiene and Medicine requires attendance and overnight stays in Manchester, UK. This is for 4 consecutive days, usually in April or May. If you do not want the BOHS accreditation you do not have to attend this event. The event is included in the CPD fee for all students but the cost of travel and accommodation must be met by the student.
Policy on Additional Costs
All students should normally be able to complete their programme of study without incurring additional study costs over and above the tuition fee for that programme. Any unavoidable additional compulsory costs totalling more than 1% of the annual home undergraduate fee per annum, regardless of whether the programme in question is undergraduate or postgraduate taught, will be made clear to you at the point of application.
