Overview
The MSc Medical Physics in Cancer Radiation Therapy is a postgraduate program designed to develop the skills and knowledge needed for a career in cancer research and medical physics. The program is offered by the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at The University of Manchester.
Entry Requirements
- An honours degree (minimum Upper Second class) or overseas equivalent in physics or a related subject.
- Healthcare professionals with an equivalent qualification will also be considered and may be invited to interview.
- Applicants with a Lower Second class degree may be considered via interview.

Fees
- For entry in the academic year beginning September 2025, the tuition fees are as follows:
- MSc (full-time): UK students £14,000 per annum, International students £33,000 per annum.
- MSc (part-time): UK students £7,000 per annum, International students £16,500 per annum.
Policy on Additional Costs
- All students should normally be able to complete their programme of study without incurring additional study costs over and above the tuition fee for that programme.
- Any unavoidable additional compulsory costs totalling more than 1% of the annual home undergraduate fee per annum, regardless of whether the programme in question is undergraduate or postgraduate taught, will be made clear to you at the point of application.
