PGCE Secondary Business Education
Overview
The PGCE Secondary Business Education is a one-year postgraduate certificate program that prepares students to become outstanding secondary school Business Education teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The program offers extensive periods of classroom experience supported by outstanding tutors and mentors.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum 2:2 honours degree in business, management, economics, or a related subject, with at least half of the content directly related to business education.
- A strong academic record at A-level (or equivalent).
- Minimum grade C or 4 at GCSE (or equivalent) in English language and mathematics.

Fees
For entry in the academic year beginning September 2025, the tuition fees are as follows:
- PGCE (full-time)
- UK students (per annum, subject to Parliamentary approval): £9,535
- International, including EU, students (per annum): £23,500
Policy on Additional Costs
All students should normally be able to complete their programme of study without incurring additional study costs over and above the tuition fee for that programme.
Scholarships/Sponsorships
There are three types of Government funding available for teacher training:
- Tax-free bursary or scholarship
- Tuition fee loan and maintenance loan
- Extra financial support if you're a parent or have an adult dependant or a disability
