MSc Occupational Medicine / Overview

Overview

The MSc Occupational Medicine is a postgraduate program designed to provide medical practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to practice occupational medicine. The program is approved by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) London and the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS).


Entry Requirements

  • A medical degree from an approved institution is required.
  • No experience in occupational medicine is necessary.

Course Details

  • The program is available full-time (1 year) or part-time (2 or 3 years).
  • The program includes a dissertation (as part of the MSc) to meet the research learning outcome of the Occupational Medicine Specialty Training Curriculum.
  • The program covers critical appraisal skills, leadership, and the impact of work on health and health on work.

Fees

  • MSc (full-time distance learning): UK students (£14,500 per annum), International students (£30,000 per annum)
  • MSc (part-time distance learning): UK students (£5,800 for year 1 and 2, £2,900 for year 3), International students (£12,000 for year 1 and 2, £6,000 for year 3)
  • PGDip (part-time distance learning): UK students (£5,800 per annum), International students (£12,000 per annum)
  • PGCert (part-time distance learning): UK students (£2,900 per annum), International students (£6,000 per annum)

Additional Expenses

  • The University permits applicants with comparable previous experience to submit an application for consideration of Accreditation Prior (Experiential) Learning (AP(E)L).
  • The maximum AP(E)L is 15 credits to a PGCert, 45 credits to a PGDip, and 60 credits to an MSc.
  • If your AP(E)L application is successful, the University charges £30 for every 15 credits of AP(E)L.
