This part-time, blended CPD course is exclusively for members of The British Cosmetic Dermatology Group (BCDG) and is designed to equip students with the knowledge, expertise, and skills needed to refine their practice and provide clinical excellence in cosmetic dermatology.

- Duration: 10 weeks online, one practical day plus access to student mentorship scheme
- Delivery: A mix of online content with a practical day held in May 2026 in Manchester
- Practical Day: Hands-on clinical practical workshops, delivered jointly by The University of Manchester academics and the BCDG
- Mentorship: Assigned a mentor who is an experienced clinician and BCDG member, with three meetings to cover 10 injectables cases
- Workload: Approx 15 hours per week

Course Overview
- Who this course is for: Registrars on a training rotation or consultants who are members of The British Cosmetic Dermatology Group
- What you will learn:
- Develop an in-depth, critical understanding of facial anatomy and morphology of ageing changes
- Recognise evidence-based approaches to assess both clinically and psychologically a patient requesting treatment with injectable devices
- Gain an understanding of service user and carer perspectives to apply to your practice
- Obtain expertise in post-treatment review and assessment plans based on an in-depth knowledge of patients' emotional and physical needs
Course Structure
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Delivery: Part-time, blended online course with a practical day
- Course Learning Aims: Equip students with in-depth knowledge, understanding, and skills using evidence-based approaches to the assessment, formulation, and management of patients undergoing treatment with injectable devices
- Teaching and Learning: Online e-learning resources, video lectures, video demonstrations of practical procedures, formative online short answer quizzes, and facial assessment exercises
- Coursework and Assessment: Summative assessments include an online video presentation of a case study and group work discussions on critiquing of recent studies

- Application and Selection: Applications for February 2026 will open soon, limited to members of the BCDG only
- Advice to Applicants: Anyone with membership of The British Cosmetic Dermatology Group will be accepted onto the course, with priority given initially to UK-based NTN/Consultants
