Program Overview
Master of Teaching
The Master of Teaching is a graduate entry course that prepares students for a career as an educator in the early childhood sector, primary schools, or secondary schools. This degree is suited to applicants who have a bachelor's degree in any discipline and are seeking a teaching qualification.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible, students need to satisfy the following entrance requirements:
- Qualifications: An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average
- English entry requirements: IELTS (Academic): 7.0 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening: 7.5, Reading: 7.0, Writing 7.0 and Speaking 7.5
- University entrance requirements: Minimum entrance requirements for admission to Monash University Australia
Extra Requirements
- Situational Judgement test: Applicants must sit a Situational Judgement test to be eligible for entry into this course
- National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE): Students must achieve the standard in the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students
- Working with Children Check: Before participating in a professional experience placement in any educational setting, students must meet specific security clearances
- Immunisations: Before participating in professional experience in an education setting, students must meet immunisation requirements

To complete the degree, students must demonstrate that they have the abilities, knowledge, and skills to achieve specific core learning outcomes. These are called inherent requirements.

Scholarships
Monash University offers over 360 types of scholarships, valued at up to $280,000. Some scholarships offer one-off payments while others continue for the length of the course.
Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course.
