Occupational Therapy Practice - M6017

Overview

The Master of Occupational Therapy Practice (MOTPrac) is a professional entry master's degree that enables students with a first degree in a related field to obtain a professional entry-level qualification for practice as an occupational therapist through postgraduate-level study.

  • Location: On-campus at Peninsula: Full-time
  • Duration: 2 years (full-time)
  • Start date: July: This course runs on a term rather than semester basis and commences in early July.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Entry Requirements (International students):
    • An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least high credit (65%) average.
    • Completion of either:
      • A minimum of at least one six-credit-point unit of study in human anatomy AND physiology
      • The Monash Human Biology short course
      • BMA1901 Human Structure and Function as a single-unit enrolment at Monash
  • English entry requirements:
    • IELTS (Academic): 7.0 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.5, Reading 6.5, Writing 6.5, and Speaking 6.5
    • Pearson Test of English (Academic): 65 Overall score, with minimum scores: Listening 58, Reading 58, Speaking 58, and Writing 58
    • TOEFL Internet-based test: 94 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 19, Listening 20, Speaking 20, and Writing 24
  • University entrance requirements: Minimum entrance requirements for admission to Monash University Australia.

Extra Requirements

  • This course does not offer deferrals. It is recommended that you apply for the year that you intend to commence the course.
  • National Police Check, Working With Children Check & Immunisation: Successful applicants must satisfy the immunisation requirements specified by the Faculty, complete a National Police Check each year before undertaking clinical placements, hold a valid Working with Children Check, and hold a current NDIS Worker Screening check.

  • International fee: Fees are per 48 credit points which represents a standard full-time course load for a year. The fees for 2025 are: A$58,300

Enrolment Obligations

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course. See standard 8.19 and 8.20 of National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.
