Overview of the Graduate Certificate of Cybersecurity

The Graduate Certificate of Cybersecurity is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to succeed in a constantly changing global environment. This course will give students the flexibility to choose their career outcomes from a range of network security, blockchain, and cloud computing units that will enhance their professional standing in this ever-changing industry.

Structure

This course comprises 24 credit points, which includes a 6 credit point core Cybersecurity unit and 18 credit points of elective Cybersecurity units.


Part A: Cybersecurity Unit

You must complete the following unit:


  • Information and computer security

Part B: Elective Units

You must complete three of the following units:


  • Software and network security
  • Cyber operations
  • Blockchain
  • Cloud computing and security

Entry Requirements

An Australian bachelor degree or an equivalent qualification, with at least a 60% average, in a discipline relating to IT, Engineering, or a Science degree with completed studies in Python or Java programming and computer architecture networks.


English Requirements

Applicants must meet the English language requirements.


University Entrance Requirements

Minimum entrance requirements apply for admission to Monash University Australia.


Fees

For the Graduate Certificate of Cybersecurity, the estimated cost is $5,250 per unit. You may be eligible to receive a FEE-HELP loan to cover part or all of your tuition. Fees are subject to change annually.

  • Description: Enterprise networks are highly complex infrastructures that face significant security challenges because of the scale of operations. ‘Cyber operations’ provides you with practical experience in planning secure networks, policy-based operations, and the implementation of security. Blockchain

  • Description: Blockchain is predicted to be the next revolution of the internet. In ‘Blockchain’ you will gain a basic knowledge of blockchain technology and how they can be applied to real-world scenarios. Your learning will focus on understanding different blockchain systems including consensus, privacy-preserving protocols, and smart contracts, which are increasingly being used in different industries.

Cloud Computing and Security

  • Description: ‘Cloud computing and security’ will enable you to build a foundational knowledge of cloud computing technology and teach you how to design and implement cloud applications.
