Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis
The Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis is for those interested in the science and practice of applied behaviour analysis in clinic, home, school and work settings.

- Duration: 1, 1.5 or 2 years full-time depending on prior qualifications

Entry Requirements
To be considered for entry to this course, you need to satisfy the following entrance requirements:
- Minimum Entry Requirements (International students):
- Entry level 1: Duration: 2 years full-time, 4 years part-time (96 points to complete): An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average
- Entry level 2: Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time (72 points to complete): An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average and a minimum of two years of full time equivalent relevant professional experience, or an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Education or a related discipline including but not limited to psychology, counselling, social work, disability care or education support with at least a credit (60%) average, or a four-year Australian bachelor honours degree or an Australian graduate certificate or an Australian graduate diploma (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average, or an Australian master's degree (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average
- Entry level 3: Duration: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time (48 points to complete): An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Education or a related discipline as relevant to the specialisation with at least a credit (60%) average and a minimum of two years of full time equivalent relevant professional experience, or a four-year Australian bachelor honours degree or an Australian graduate certificate or an Australian graduate diploma (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average and a minimum of two years of full time equivalent relevant professional experience, or a four-year Australian bachelor honours degree or an Australian graduate certificate or an Australian graduate diploma (or equivalent) in Education or a related discipline including but not limited to psychology, counselling, social work, disability care or education support with at least a credit (60%) average, or an Australian master's degree (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average and a minimum of two years of full time equivalent relevant professional experience, or an Australian master's degree (or equivalent) in Education or a related discipline including but not limited to psychology, counselling, social work, disability care or education support with at least a credit (60%) average
- English entry requirements:
- Level A: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0, or Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, with minimum scores: Listening 50, Reading 50, Speaking 50 and Writing 50, or TOEFL Internet-based test: 79 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18 and Writing 21

Inherent Requirements

Course Structure
The course is structured in three parts: Part A. Orientation to education, Part B. Professional studies in ABA, and Part C. Professional inquiry.
Part A. Orientation to education
These studies will introduce you to contemporary issues in the study of education. They are intended for students who come into the course without previous qualifications in education or work experience in education-related fields.
Part B. Professional studies in ABA
These units have theoretical and practical relevance to professionals in a range of contexts, including early intervention, general education, inclusive and special education, and specialised behaviour support. Through these units you will gain knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
- philosophy and science of learning
- concepts and principles of behaviour analysis and their application with diverse populations
- identification and assessment of behaviours
- function-based behavioural treatment
- evidence-based teaching practices for behaviour analysts
- experimental design for research in behaviour analysis
- data collection, analysis, and data-based decision-making
- performance management and supervision
- professional ethics for behaviour analysts
Part C. Professional inquiry
These studies provide you with the opportunity to undertake a program of coursework study tailored to your own interests.
Changes to the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) certification
The BACB currently accepts certification applications from individuals regardless of their country of residence. Effective January 1, 2023, only individuals who reside in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom* may apply for BACB certification. BACB certificants who obtained their certification prior to January 1, 2023 may maintain their certification indefinitely as long as they meet recertification requirements.

Scholarships
We offer over 360 types of scholarships, valued at up to $280,000. Some scholarships offer one-off payments while others continue for the length of your course.
Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course. CRICOS code: E
