Commerce and Computer Science
The Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Computer Science are two separate degrees that can be completed together in four years. This double degree course allows students to study commerce and computer science, providing a broad foundation in both fields and the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of commerce and computer science.

Entry Requirements
To be considered for entry into this course, students must satisfy the following requirements:
- Minimum Age: At the time of enrolment in a course at Monash University, students must be at least 17 years of age.
- Academic: All Monash undergraduate courses require students to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score.
- Additional requirements: English language requirements and prerequisite subject requirements must also be met.
English Language Requirements
All Monash undergraduate courses require students to satisfy English entry requirements in one of the following ways:
- English subject (Australian Year 12 equivalent)
- Language of instruction
- English tests: IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English, and Cambridge English.
Prerequisite Subject Requirements
Students must satisfy the following prerequisite subject requirements for this course:
- English: VCE Units 3 and 4 - English (EAL) or English (Other) with a score of 25, or IB Diploma Programme - Standard Level English A: Literature or English A: Language and Literature with a score of 4.
- Maths: VCE Units 3 and 4 - Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics with a score of 25, or IB Diploma Programme - Standard Level Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches with a score of 4.
Alternative Pathways
If students don't satisfy the requirements for direct entry, they can consider alternative pathways such as Monash University Foundation Year, Monash University Diploma of Business, or Monash Advanced Preparation Program.
Fees
Fees are subject to change annually. The international fee for this course is A$53,200 per 48 credit points, which represents a standard full-time course load for a year.
Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course.
Course Structure
The Bachelor of Commerce is a comprehensive course, structured in three equal parts:
- Commerce specified study: This will provide students with a broad foundation for their study of commerce and expose them to several commerce disciplines.
- Commerce listed major: This will provide students with a focused program of study that will develop their expertise in one discipline area.
- The Bachelor of Computer Science is a specialist course that develops through the themes of:
- Computer science foundation study
- Professional skills study
- Specialist discipline knowledge
- Problem solving and analytic skills study
- Professional skills study which come together in applied practice.
Career Opportunities
The double degree course in Commerce and Computer Science will provide students with a wide variety of career opportunities. Regardless of the computer science specialisation or the major chosen, students will develop the technical skills required to work across the computer science and IT sectors and the commerce skills to pursue roles in project management, systems management, or data analytics.

Students can apply directly to Monash University using the course code B2008. Current Monash students can apply to transfer from another Monash course.
