Program Overview
Architectural Design and Architecture
The Architectural Design and Architecture program at Monash University is a progressive and dynamic course that positions students to imagine new environments of the future and shape the way people live and interact with one another. This vertical double degree combines the Bachelor of Architectural Design (3 years) and Master of Architecture (2 years), allowing students to meet the academic requirements for registration as an architect and setting them on their journey to start their professional practice.

Entry Requirements
To be considered for entry into this course, students must satisfy all of the following requirements:
Minimum Age Requirements
At the time of enrolment in a course at Monash University, students must be at least 17 years of age.
Academic Entry Requirements
All Monash undergraduate courses require students to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score.
English Entry Requirements
All Monash undergraduate courses require students to satisfy English entry requirements in one of the following ways:
- English subject (Australian Year 12 equivalent)
- Language of instruction
- English tests
Prerequisite Subject Requirements
Students must satisfy the following prerequisite subject requirements for this course:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science/Other
Course Structure
The course develops through theme studies in architectural design, architectural performance, positions and dialogues study, and communication. These will come together in the form of a graduand exhibition normally developed during the final studio unit in the third year of the course.
Bachelor of Architectural Design
The Bachelor of Architectural Design develops through theme studies in architectural design, architectural performance, positions and dialogues study, and communication.
Master of Architecture
The Master of Architecture focuses on core concepts and skills relevant to architecture design at a Master’s level. Through project-based studio classes, students will gain exposure to leading design practices.
Fees
Fees are subject to change annually. The international fee for this course is A$49,800 per 48 credit points, which represents a standard full-time course load for a year.
Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course.
