Course Structure

The course is structured in two parts:

Part A. Core master's study

These studies will immerse you in public policy studies at graduate level. The units address the essential elements of public policy - policy processes, policy analysis, implementation, evaluation, governance - as well as the context of contemporary public policy. Throughout these studies, you will gain practical knowledge and skills that will provide a solid foundation for the specialist studies units undertaken in the program.

Part B. Broadening expertise

On transferring to the partner institution (JGU), students will complete studies equivalent to 48 credit points of units in the Monash Master of Public Policy as per the requirements of the JGU course.

Double Degree Courses

Double degree courses allow you to study towards two different degrees at the same time, and graduate with two separate qualifications. And because a required subject in one course can count as an elective in the other, our double degrees take up to two years less than if you studied for the two degrees separately.
