Politics, Philosophy and Economics and Arts
Overview
This double degree combines the deep focus of the Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) and the flexibility of the Bachelor of Arts. The PPE is an elite program designed for deep thinkers who want to have a real impact. By studying at the creative intersection between three disciplines - Politics and governance, Philosophy, and Economic analysis - you’ll learn how to transform big ideas into tangible results.

Entry Requirements
International Entry Requirements
- Minimum Age: At the time of enrolment in a course at Monash University, you must be at least 17 years of age.
- Academic: All Monash undergraduate courses require you to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score.
- Additional Requirements: Prerequisite subjects and English language requirements apply.
Prerequisite Subjects
- English: VCE: Units 3 and 4 - English (EAL) with a study score of 25, English (Other) with a study score of 25.
- Maths: VCE: Units 3 and 4 - Mathematical Methods with a study score of 22, Specialist Mathematics with a study score of 22, General Mathematics with a study score of 25.
English Language Requirements
- Level A: IELTS (Academic) with an overall score of 6.5 and no band less than 6.0, or equivalent.
Course Structure
Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics
- Part A. Analysis, strategy and leadership: Develop a foundational understanding of politics, philosophy, and economics as a complex phenomenon.
- Part B. Politics, philosophy and economics (PPE) specialist knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the specific facet of PPE that comprises your specialisation.
Bachelor of Arts
- A. Arts listed major: A focused program of study that develops practical and theoretical skills and knowledge in one Faculty of Arts listed major area of study.
- B. Arts specified study: Exposure to several arts disciplines contributing breadth to your knowledge of the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
Fees
- International Fee: A$47,900 per 48 credit points (subject to change annually).
Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course.
