Overview of the Graduate Certificate of Analytics
The Graduate Certificate of Analytics is a 100% online course designed to equip students with a solid foundation of skills in contemporary analytics practice. This program enables students to make informed business decisions using complex data and prepares them for careers in multiple sectors.
Program Structure
To be awarded the Graduate Certificate of Analytics, students must complete four units in total.
Core Units
- Data Exploration and Visualisation: This unit develops basic skills in the use of SQL and R to clean and explore data. It focuses on the use of R for further manipulation and visualisation of complex data, promoting principles of information design in the exploration and visualisation of complex data.
- Quantitative Analysis and Data Modelling: This unit introduces the use of Microsoft Excel for statistical analysis and basic modelling methods. It covers a broad range of quantitative methods, including confidence intervals, linear regression, and causality analysis.
- Data Reporting, Presentation and Dashboards: This unit develops advanced skills in the use of Power BI for the exploration, analysis, and presentation of data for decision-making. It focuses on transforming raw data into a worked form for initial visualisation and descriptive analysis.
- Enterprise Analytics: This unit explores how contemporary business intelligence, data analytics, and reporting capabilities can be used effectively to communicate actionable insights to stakeholders. It considers the strategic and technical considerations of designing, delivering, and utilising a successful enterprise analytics solution.
Entry Requirements
- An Australian bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Applicants must have successfully completed a first-year undergraduate statistics unit, or provide evidence of qualifications/training or experience that the faculty considers to be equivalent.
- English language requirements must be met.
Fees
The estimated cost is $4,637.50 per unit. Students may be eligible to receive a FEE-HELP loan to cover part or all of their tuition. Fees are subject to change annually.
