Overview
The Master of Advanced Health Care Practice (MAHCP) is designed for registered health care professionals seeking to advance their expertise and leadership in clinical practice or research. This course provides a flexible and focused pathway to deepen your knowledge within your chosen discipline while developing the skills required for advanced roles in health care.

Entry Requirements
To be considered for entry to this course, you need to satisfy the following entrance requirements:
- Qualifications: An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with at least 50% average
- Registration: Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) or equivalent accredited professional registration body
- Experience: A minimum of two years equivalent full-time experience in a cognate discipline and evidence of current engagement in Clinical Practice in the area of specialisation
- Professional Portfolio: Submission of an extensive professional portfolio approved by the Faculty

Course Structure
The course structure allows you to tailor your learning to your professional goals. All students begin with a shared core unit in advanced health care practice. From there, you can choose between a coursework pathway to enhance your clinical and professional capabilities, or a research pathway that includes clinical and professional education as well as a supervised research project.
English Entry Requirements
- IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0
- Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, with minimum scores: Listening 50, Reading 50, Speaking 50 and Writing 50
- TOEFL Internet-based test: 79 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18 and Writing 21
Extra Requirements
- National Police Check, Working with Children Check and Immunisation: Successful applicants must satisfy the immunisation requirements specified by the Faculty, complete a National Police Check each year before undertaking clinical placements, and hold a valid Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening check: For Paediatric Physiotherapy specialisation, hold a current NDIS Worker Screening check
Making the Application
This course is available to domestic students, international students living and studying offshore, and holders of an Australia temporary visa (other than a student visa) that has a full study entitlement. The course is not available to International Students currently in Australia on a Student Visa, with the exception of the Paramedicine specialisation.
Fees
Fees are subject to change annually. The total fees for 2025 for this 24 credit point (6 month full-time) course are to be advised.
Scholarships
We offer over 360 types of scholarships, valued at up to $280,000. Some scholarships offer one-off payments while others continue for the length of your course.
Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course.
