Program Overview
Design and Arts
The Design and Arts program is a double undergraduate degree that combines contemporary design thinking and a creative problem-solving mindset with over 30 areas of study across humanities, social science, languages, and performing arts. This unique degree combination will provide students with a blended skill-set to best respond to the complexity of contemporary global society.

Entry Requirements
To be considered for entry into this course, students must satisfy all of the following requirements:
- Minimum Age: At the time of enrolment in a course at Monash University, students must be at least 17 years of age.
- Academic: All Monash undergraduate courses require students to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score.
- Additional requirements: English entry requirements and prerequisite subject requirements must also be met.
English Entry Requirements
All Monash undergraduate courses require students to satisfy English entry requirements in one of the following ways:
- English subject (Australian Year 12 equivalent)
- Language of instruction
- English tests: IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English, and Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English
Prerequisite Subject Requirements
Students must satisfy the following prerequisite subject requirements for this course:
- English: VCE (25 in Units 3 and 4) or IB Diploma Programme (4 in English A: Literature or English A: Language and Literature at Standard or Higher Level)

Fees
Fees are subject to change annually. The international fee for this course is A$42,500 per 48 credit points.
Enrolment Obligations
International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning.
Course Structure
The Bachelor of Design is a specialist course that develops through theme studies in history and theory, drawing foundation, and design studios specific to communication design, collaborative design, industrial design, and spatial design.

The Bachelor of Arts is a comprehensive course that develops students' knowledge and understanding of the humanities, social sciences, and languages.

Making the Application
Applications for on-campus studies should be made online through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). Current Monash students may apply to transfer from another Monash course.
