Course Details

The Health Management course, offered by the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, is designed to provide students with the skills to manage clinical health care systems and processes. The degree gives students a broad framework from which to manage clinical health care systems, covering human resource, financial, informational, medico-legal, political, cultural, economic, ethical, industrial, technological, and psychosocial issues.

Entry Requirements

To be considered for entry to this course, students must satisfy the following entrance requirements:


  • Minimum Entry Requirements (International students):
    • An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a credit (60%) average
    • Completed a Monash University Graduate Certificate in Health Management (M4006) with a minimum weighted average mark of at least 60%
  • Relevant Cognate Disciplines: Medical, nursing, allied health, (other health-related degree e.g., chiropractic, psychology, public health, environmental health, paramedic, imaging (radiology, nuclear medicine), biomedical engineering, dietetics
    utrition, pharmacy, social work, medical science/biomedical science/immunology, health science, laboratory science, science, and health economics); or economics, law, or business
  • English Entry Requirements:
    • Level A: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0, and Speaking 6.0
    • Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, with minimum scores: Listening 50, Reading 50, Speaking 50, and Writing 50
    • TOEFL Internet-based test: 79 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18, and Writing 21
  • University Entrance Requirements: Minimum entrance requirements for admission to Monash University Australia

Enrolment Obligations
