Introduction to the Art Studio Program
The Art Studio B.A. degree program provides a broad foundation in art practice, history, and theory that emphasizes experimentation, creative problem solving, critical thinking, and global awareness. Interaction with a faculty of practicing artists, visiting artists, professional and student exhibitions, international study, as well as the resources of the larger university, foster informed, engaged, and creative graduates, preparing them for professional careers and graduate studies.

- The Art Studio B.A. students develop an individual plan of study that encourages exploration and specialization in one or more studio practices, including:

- Fiber/fabrics
- Mixed media

- Printmaking
- Time-based art
- Sculpture

Admission and Declaration Process
- Most classes in the Studio area are restricted to majors only.
- An online application is required to access classes in this area.
- The application will include a portfolio of recent work and an unofficial transcript of any college-level courses already taken.
- Application Deadlines: Application deadlines are by midnight on October 15 and January 31.
Grade Requirements
- A grade of C- or better is required for a student’s major or minor courses, and supporting courses for majors and minors.

Departmental Honors
In addition to the general requirements for all honors students, an art major who wishes to graduate with honors must complete an honors senior project in art.
