Introduction to the Cybersecurity Certificate
The Cybersecurity Certificate is designed to provide students from all disciplines with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and address cybersecurity challenges. This program is open on a space-available basis and is intended to complement a student's major in the relevant area of Cybersecurity.

How to Declare (Admission and Declaration Process)
Admission instructions and processes are detailed on the Cybersecurity website. Certificates are only available to students who are matriculated with another major.
Grade Requirements
A grade of C- or better is required for a student’s certificate courses, and supporting courses for certificates.
Requirements (16 credits)
CISS Courses
- CISS 361 - Cybersecurity (4 credits)
- CISS 470 - Policy, Compliance, & Risk (4 credits)
- CISS 471 - Cyber Privacy, Ethics & Abuse (4 credits)
Programming or Information Systems Course
- Students must take one programming or information systems course. Choose one of the following:
- ACCT 321 - Accounting Information Systems I (4 credits)
- CSCI 140 - Programming Fundamentals in C++ (4 credits)
- CSCI 141 - Computer Programming I (4 credits)
- MIS 320 - Principles of Management Information Systems (4 credits) (MIS 320 registration restricted to College of Business and Economics students.)
